AASLH began in 1904, under the wing of the American Historical
Association. It provides leadership, service, and support for its members, who
preserve and interpret state and local history in order to make the past more
meaningful.
AOGHS is a Washington DC based non-profit
organization focused on preserving America's petroleum exploration and
production history by providing advocacy and service for community museums
and other organizations working to preserve this history through exhibition,
material preservation and especially educational outreach.

Woodworkers of Whittier was founded on the principle of service
to the Whittier community. Its annual toy project benefits hundreds of children
each year at Christmas time, and other club projects include cabinet making
for community organizations. The Hathaway Ranch Museum provides workspace for
the woodworkers organization.
